New report IGS 2015, Novy Bor

Over 70 glass artists from around the world were received at this year's International Glass Symposium. The event takes place every three years in the North of Bohemia, in Nový Bor. Up to now, this 12th year has been the biggest of all that have taken place so far. The founder of the symposium is the company Crystalex. In 1982, this company brought in the idea to provide for a creative meeting of celebrities of Czech and international glass art. Such meeting aims to demonstrate and highlight the glass industry in its modern and creative form that can be successfully evaluated on foreign markets.

This year, following designers exploited the background of Crystalex facilities: Antonie Jankovcová (CZE), Riikka Latva-Somppi (FIN), Jeff Zimmer (USA), Jenny Ritzenhoff (DE), and students of secondary glass schools. Besides the Czech and foreign participants, it was also possible to see the works of designers Vanda Mocová and Markéta Lukavcová, who belong to the Crystalex team.
